I Wasn’t Supposed To Be Here.

My starting point was a statistical dead-end. I was raised in a high-rise in Leytonstone, East London, a place where nothing good really happened.

My "office" wasn't a boardroom; it was my mother’s living room, watching her braid hair for hours on Saturdays just to keep four children fed

I didn’t have a trust fund. I had no connections. I didn’t have a viral moment. I started with a Third-Class degree that could have ended my career before it began

For two years, I sat in a entry level job at Barclays Bank. I wasn't building; I was just surviving. I had given up on my dream of architecture because the industry told me I wasn't good enough

I felt the crushing weight of "drift" wasting my twenties in a survival job that paid the bills but killed my ambition, so I decided to try again

Then I did the math. I looked at the "standard path" for a qualified architect: low salary, high risk and demands. I looked at the life I wanted to build.

The math didn't add up. The standard path could not fund my future

I realised that if I followed the rules, I would always be capped. I had to design a new path.

I stopped asking for permission and started building leverage.
